About This Work
Bexar County Courthouse is Yosan's tribute to one of San Antonio's most magnificent architectural landmarks — the Romanesque Revival masterpiece completed in 1896, built from rich red Texas granite and sandstone. For a Cuban-born artist arriving in a new country, painting this building was an act of deep respect for his adopted home.
The painting captures the courthouse in brilliant daylight, its twin towers rising against a clear blue Texas sky, surrounded by the green canopy of downtown trees. Pedestrians move across the plaza below, their scale emphasizing the monumental grandeur of the structure. The color palette is warm and luminous — a celebration of a city that welcomed the artist with open arms.
This work has been acquired by a private collector. Yosan welcomes commissions of San Antonio landmarks and is open to reproductions for collectors who connect with this vision of the city.
